Information Right NOW

Information Right NOW

Group EVS project "Information right now" is a long-term project involving 2 volunteers from Italy in local youth work activities in Kavadarci, Macedonia for a period of 12 months. The volunteers were actively involved in daily work services in the INFO Center - Kavadarci working on different tasks, activities and projects and partly in Coalition SEGA in Prilep, Macedonia.

The volunteers were involved into these services and themes:

  • INFOrmation right NOW (Youth leisure, youth information)
  • Youth entrepreneurial club (Youth unemployment issue, youth entrepreneurship and creativity)
  • INFO NOW Reporter (Discovering local culture and the country heritage).

The objectives of the project were set for the volunteers to feel the cultural and social differences.

There were many types of activities where the volunteers were involved such as running workshops and educations for local young people using different creative tools that can be useful for group learning and providing youth work and information linked with the local community development. The planned activities not only helped the volunteers to learn and grow, but also they contribute to strength the civil society in Macedonia as developing country.

The EVS volunteers together with the local volunteers learn how to advocate themselves, to help, innovate and be part of positive changes in their community. In this way, they participated in the construction of the
future of Europe, because they adopt an attitude and gain skills which will allow Europe in the future to have active citizens.

The participants were young people (aged 18 -30) who are facing the problem of unemployment. The EVS volunteers presented to the local youngsters information about the European mobility programmes according to their own experience as EVS volunteers. They shared information about their cultures in order to understand the cultural diversity within Europe and increase tolerance among young people from different countries.
All the activities of our project had European dimension. They promoted European citizenship, identity, tolerance, they raised awareness about volunteering and exchange different cultural experiences.

The methods used in our activities were participatory and non-formal methods. Through them we created space for interaction of participants and sharing of ideas and make the learning process easier, allow participants to undertake their own analyses, including reflections on their own learning outcomes or on the impact on organization and the community.

At the end of the EVS the participants were aware about the importance of volunteering, acquire skills, competences and knowledge, which they will be able to contribute to social, professional or personal development. The youngsters were motivated to be actively involved at a local and European level. They become more active and shared their knowledge and skills further to the Macedonian youngsters in the local community The multipliers were created at a local and European level, because after their EVS the volunteers will use their acquired skills and share their knowledge with youngsters from their countries that are not directly involved in the project but they will be indirect beneficiaries.

There was open space for the volunteers to implement their ideas to improve the quality of the project and encourage more and more youngsters to be active in the events delivered by them. During these experiences the volunteers as well as the youngsters had intercultural learning in order to have a better understanding in each other culture.

Series of Monthly online flyers, promotional material, articles and e-newsletter were final product in this project which consist each realized activity and methods done by the EVS.
